About me
My name is Nick, and I am a student at a tech school in Rhode Island. I've been around computers since I was about twelve years old. Ever since then I've been more of a "Dr Frankenstein" with computers. Taking a bunch of them apart and combining all the pieces to make a new machine and get it up and running.
Eventually, I discovered the internet. From that point on, nothing could stop me. I began to teach myself even more. After not long I was given some webspace on a friend's server. That's when I started writing websites, and a few months later I bought my domain.
As mentioned before I can build computers, but thats not all I can do. I can figure out specifically whats wrong with one, and then fix it. And that's not just with hardware. I can also fix any issue with the operating system as well (Windows XP, Vista, etc). On top of that, I can also setup, configure, and fix home networks.
However, my real joy is web-based. In my free time I've written a few web-based games (in PHP). For example, Rock Paper Scissors, and Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock, that are found on my main site.
Almost all of my programming knowledge is self taught, however I learned the basic concepts in classes. After I understood how it worked, I took off from there. I've written programs in C, C++, Perl, Java, Bash, Visual Basic, QBasic, and my favorite so far, PHP. In the near future I plan on learning, among others, JavaScript and Python. Although I will most likely concentrate more effort into learning Perl more thoroughly.
